The picture taken in August of 2005 is from my hometown, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The creature is a mastodon after the hometown team, Indiana-Purdue Universiy-Fort Wayne. Years ago, a mastodon fossil was found on the campus grounds. This golden mastodon was located in front on the Lincoln Tower, which for many years was the tallest building in Indiana with its 16 floors.
This year Fort Wayne has 'SNEAKERS'. Come and take a look....although the Mastodons were neater and more of them. The horses in Florida several years ago were the best. OfCourse in the huge town of Hoagland we have.....nothing.Ruthie
Oooh! Isn't that lovely?
Wow!!! Love it!!!My grandmother collected elephants...Oh, and Bethany learned to say the word "elephant" two weeks ago. Only she feels the bizarre need to whisper it!

Like the mastadon but also like the cup/plate series. Am fascinated by the term "brambleberries". English people call them blackberries and we Scots call them brambles, but I've never heard your variant. Lovely plate, anyway.
I love the pic & the story behind it x x
I saw the sneakers last weekend and will see them again this weekend. Shall I take a picture for you?
Love the golden elephant. Toronto had moose -er- meese? Like the golden version much better.
Born on a wednesday July 2nd. at two O'Clock in the afternoon. It was raining and has been ever since.Y:-) Paddy.
I want one of these!!!
What a fun photo. And story behind it is even more interesting. Did they find the whole creature or just one bone?
Thank you for visiting my blog. :)I love the elephant in this post, but even more, I LOVE that blue plate in your "favorites" post below.
