Destruction

These pictures are from a fire that started in a car in garage and quickly spread to the surrounding apartment building. This burned building is located behind the parking lot at our church. I am amazed how quickly the fire moved from the car to the building essentially destroying both. Luckily, no one was injured in this particular fire. However, the damage to the property is great.

I can't help but think of all of the belongings, memories, and special photos/trinkets that get destroyed in fires. I would be distraught.

This picture brings back bad memories. When I was small our families best friends lived 3 houses down. While Mom was in hospt with a new baby the house burned to the ground. My Dad saved the little girl who was 3 but she later died in the ER. The body of my true love Jeffery, was found after the fire was put out. He had hid from the fire under his bed. The poor dad did all he could to save his kids. It was a water heater that caused the fire. I have never forgotten that and still make 2 checks of the house before leaving or going to bed.
