Oh, I love pollywogs! I used to catch them in a dip net and bring them home in a bucket. We put them in the aquarium in the kitchen. It worked really well for awhile. Then they got legs...

Dear mjd. Is pollywogs really a word? Anyway, that's a lot of future frogs that are currently tadpoling in that pond! Ribbit.

Long may they flourish. Wonderful! Just imagine we are like that when we first begin life inside our mother.

I loved those from my childhood, as well as bachelor buttons. (it was some sort of wild flower, I think)

It seems later in the year for them to be just so small. But there are a lot of them. Together they make a large mass of to be frogs.

Frema said...

They look like leaf dropping! But in a good way. :)

Wow, look at them all! Their parents must have been very busy frogs.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
I am not an environmentalist, but I still do try to not cause a great deal of harm, but I am not cloth diapering for the environment. Thats just not my agenda, but its still a good reason to cloth diaper, and nothing wrong with wanting to keep our world healthy.

Wow! We used to scoop these out of a stream down a nearby field and keep them in jamjars on the kitchen windowsill, and watch them turn into frogs. It was pretty cool. But we called them tadpoles....

That's awesome! Those things are HUGE. I wonder how big the frogs (toads?) are going to be.

Hopefully, they won't be eaten by less cute critters before they get to be frogs. Like the ones I brought home were by the mysterious giant water beetle that appeared in their tank at the same time they all disappeared.
