Happy Thanksgiving

Today in northwest Indiana, we had the first noticeable snow of the season. For some reason to me, a light dusting of snow represents an ideal Thanksgiving day. Perhaps, I have forgotten a favorite Thanksgiving of my childhood, which except for the weather, is tucked away in the inner recesses of my mind. In any event, I am thankful for the light snowfall. But more importantly, I am thankful for my loving husband, my wonderful sons and daughters (in-laws), my sweet granddaughter, my sweet granddaughter-to-be, and our kind and compassionate friends.

A final glimpse of summer.

We had pie.

Thanksgiving Day was a minor snow event. It did not stick to the ground. But it was fun to see floating to the ground. The meal and pie was the very best.

Happy Thanksgiving! We missed you, but we are glad you had a nice holiday up north. We had a nice little Turkey Day down in Indianapolis, too, but we didn't have any snow or pie.

Ah! I love that pie! I made Willi some Sweet Potato Pie, so I will have this for Christmas.

Wasn't the snow grand? Even if it was just a dusting. The bird feeders were full and the birds visited all day long as I cooked in the kitchen. With the snow falling it made a nice picture.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Daddy D! I'm thankful that we have become friends.

Happy Thanksgiving!

You are very lucky. I agree that a nice dusting of snow makes for a perfect Thanksgiving. It was actually pretty warm here most of the day today, but it's pretty cold now. We had a light dusting on Monday, which was interesting to wake up to.

Pie looks good...I just don't eat em. I stick to cupcakes. But as far as pies go....yummy looking.

Both the snow and the pie look wonderful. We missed having pie today, and we missed seeing you.

Happy Thanksgiving.
We had a light dusting when we got up also. Just enough to make things pretty, but not stick to the roads.

Enjoy the long weekend and the left-overs =)

That pie looks spectacular! I had cheesecake last night, and a little pumpkin pie today. Yummy. And turkey. I love Thanksgiving!

We went for a walk in the afternoon through a park. the leaves were crunchy and crisp and dusted with first snow. good to visit, but the balmy florida climate will be nice to go home to. I think I've turned into a wuss! Bet that pie was scrumptious!

I didn't get to make your pie for Thanksgiving(it was shot down due to the raisins), but I plan to make it just for us at home. It sounds and looks so good!

I did make a cranberry upside down cake which was quite good, if a little cinnamonny for my taste.

Please, send us some snow down here in the south! I so miss it!

Snow is fun. Since we had already passed through Indiana and were in MO we didn't have snow for Thanksgiving.
