Good-bye Winter, Hello Spring

Although the creative blogging event hosted by Elizabeth Joy at Wildflower Morning is over, I have one belated contribution. I have been sickly for the past month and unable to participate in some of the weekly events of Wildflowers in Winter. For the last week of the inspiring series, Elizabeth Joy asked us to post a picture of an early wildflower in our area. This picture taken last year at a local park is usually the first flower that I see each spring.

If are not observant, you might miss this tiny harbinger of spring, Whitlow's Grass.

Even those tiny things are so sweet when you haven't seen anything growing for so long. Soon things will be blooming all over. Thanks for you last post. I hope you are feeling better.

Growing things(even weeds) are the essence of hope and strength. I hope you're feeling better, Molly!!

It's finally feeling like spring, too. I found some little sprouts peeking up through the ground today. I would have missed this beauty, though. Happy spring, Molly.

Sometimes the small things are the most wonderful!

I am sorry to hear you have been poorly. Hope you are feeling better now. We have our non bearing pear trees in full bloom. I hope nothing else falls for this false start. We lost the cherry trees last year. They had to ship in cherries from afar for the Cherry Festival. Seems silly.

It's lovely to see the wild flowers begin to show their faces at this time of the year.

A month is a long time to feel poorly so you need some spring sunshine :)

Those small flowers are very nice to see. The bricks must give them some heat energy.

I love the composition of your picture; there's something intrinsically beautiful about it.

(Hope you're feeling better!)

I've been much more observant of these little spring flowers this year.

That's a cool picture. I'm usually a cold weather girl, but I am ready for the warm weather this year.

Of course in a few months I'll be complaining about the heat and humidity......
