Fun Monday - Favorite Photos

AOJ of The Lurchers, the lovely Angela, is the hostess of this week's Fun Monday. AOJ is asking to see our favorite picture.

I have two favorites and they both hang on the wall in my computer room. Both are pictures of our sons as toddlers. I like the composition of both photographs, and both pictures remind me of wonderful times. The first picture is our oldest son, Dean, on a camping trip in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Notice how the photographer, Daddy D, was able to capture the ripples of the rock Dean had just tossed into Lake Fanny Hooe at Copper Harbor, Michigan.

The second picture features little Luke looking wistfully at the beach and the bay in Naples, Florida. My parents retired to Florida, and we spent several Christmas vacations in Naples.

To see other great photographs and the list of participants, visit The Lurchers .

OH, these are beautiful photos! I can totally see why they are you favorites. I love the first one, it has such a great feeling to it. And the expression on your son's face in the second one is great. Great choices.

They really are great photos. I can't post any photos - my pc and my scanner quit on me, but my faves would be the ones of my kids, too.

Hey! Going with the cute kid pics is almost cheating. But they are cute!

What adorable young men! My favorite pictures are all the ones that my daughter Ashley painted--and I have them all over the house.

they are so cute...I can understand why these are your favorites.

I love little guys in overalls and how sweet the way his(Luke's)little hands are turned. What is he holding? And, how fortunate that dad was able to catch that first successful rock skipping--gives him bragging rights!

The first one should be a watercolor on your wall

They're gorgeous Molly and I love the expression on Luke's face. Like you, I too, have photo's on my son around the place when he was little and they are lovely to look at and recall the stories behind them. lots of love Judyx

Gorgeous Molly, absolutely gorgeous! I love images where the subject, particularly if they're children, are caught in a candid moment.

They are both lovely but the first one is really amazing! I imagine it being really large and taking up a fair bit of wall. Just love the whole picture!

Amazing shots. Adorable kids. I can see why you had them blown up and hanging them on the wall right next to you as you type. Perfect in every way.

My FM favorite photos are shared also, I do hope you can find time to stop by.

....wishing you a glorious week.

Great captures of that age...can you believe that they used to be that small?

So cute! I figured a lot of our children's pictures would be up today! I can see why these two tug at your heart strings!

you could almost edit the first photo to put the kid INSIDE the ripples it appears like he's inside them. neat.

You know me and family photos so I think these are just beautiful. I love looking back on childhood photos and re-living the memories so I can see why these are favourites of you
yours.

I can see why you like those so much. Picture from the shore, whether lake or ocean, are usually filled with good memories or happy times. Very nice!

Both of your favorite photos have your favorite people plus water in them. You must like being near the water, too. I live in the Ft Myers area, and I've been cruising on Rookery Bay near Naples - just beautiful down there.

That first one could be an album cover. Slightly reminescent of an Allman Brothers album I have. Beautiful!

Hey Molly,

Yes...I'm back--my kids are in school as of today, we aren't on the road, no company is underfoot, so I figured I could actually visit at least a few blogs. It's been a source of frustration to want to participate in FM but know I wouldn't be able to join in. Thanks for your fun words on my post.

The boys are precious in these pictures; it's understandable why you chose them. It's not just about the picture itself, it's tied to memory and THOSE are "favorite" kind of things. Both shots are so telling; your words simply color in a few details.

Aw … both of those are precious photos indeed … and I can see why you have them hanging where you can see them often. The settings are lovely as well.
Hugs and blessings,

It is nice to freeze our toddlers moments to hold on to forever. :)

Beautiful photos! I really love the first one, with the ripples.

Oh gosh! I'm glad you commented on my blog. I forgot to finish looking through the Fun Monday entries and I don't think I had seen yours yet. This is part of why I haven't been doing Fun Monday. It takes so long to get through the list and I get distracted (PLURK!) and then feel guilty.

These are great photographs and great memories. I have favorite photos of each of my kids and it's so hard to choose a favorite among those. I still feel guilty over putting in one of just the youngest for Fun Monday. Wow, I just have a lot of guilt, huh?;o)

I'm still making my way through the FM list but I'm so glad I came for a visit. Both photos are priceless. The look on Luke's face makes you wonder what's going through his mind at that moment and the photo of Dean is amazing how Daddy D captured those ripples like that!
