Late in the Day - Fun Monday

At 3:15 PM, I am composing my Fun Monday for June 7, 2010. I meant to post earlier but Blogger was having issues. However, the hour is late, and I should get at the task at hand. For today's assignment, the lovely Sayre of Sayre Smiles is asking about our summer plans.

I plan to have these adventures.

  • Visit the nearby park.
  • Help close the doors or better yet sell our church building
  • Help start a new journey of faith with other good folks of our church family and a new pastor
  • Plant seeds harvested in the fall by our oldest granddaughter.
  • Visit beaches on the shores of Lake Michigan.
  • Wash coats and do other essentials to prepare for the annual Coats for Kids (and families) giveaway.
  • Play with the grandkids.
  • Learn to play the dulcimer
  • Write blog entries more often
  • Organize stuff in our new home

.That is enough to keep me busy for the next five summers. What are you planning for this summer of 2010? Visit our host, Sayre of Sayre Smiles , to see what other participants have planned for this summer.

That does sound like a busy summer! Selling a church? Are you moving to a more cost-effective venue or joining up with another small congregation?

I'm going to Seoul, Korea for my brother's wedding! Never been there, but he loves it - and a nice girl who lives there. I don't imagine he'll be coming back here permanently for a long time.

Yes, Sayre we are moving because heating and maintaining the building is expensive.

Wow so sorry to hear about your church having to sell its building. Our church lately has been falling upon shortage of funds for operating and maintenance. It a very old building n needs tons of work. Hope we dont have to get out. Your list for things to do this summer will indeed keep you very busy!

YOu have an endless summer now!! It's called Retirement. :) I'm getting cataract surgery, doing to NYC at least once and (hopefully) cleaning out some rooms/closets. If I get ambitious, I may even paint.

Love the idea of planting seeds harvested with your tiny assistant last fall. A friend was just telling me about participating in a coat and hat drive for the homeless in her town. Who doesn't have one more coat than they ever would need?

Havre you settled into your new home yet Molly? Hope you've gotten it to where it feels good to live there.

Enjoy the gardening. We have so much inside to do that we can't get to the outside this year. Bummer.

We plan to visit up north and take the children to the beach for the first time. Though our plans on how to do that keep evolving...

Kara likes your list, but Nathan thinks you might also like to add a trip to the Maine seashore this summer. If that's too far, he thinks you'd at least enjoy a trip to the UP.
